Many thanks to Gabrielle Conatore for her many years as an officer or board member.

We still have room for another member at large.  If you are interested in joining the Board, please contact any of us.

Teri Silva Scholarship:  SVC has awarded a $1500 scholarship this year.   They will continue to award a scholarship once a year as long as funds are available.  We contribute $10 from each $25 membership fee to SVC for this scholarship.  Annual dues are to be paid in March.

Possible Workshops:  We discussed inviting the following guests or having members do workshops anywhere from a few hours to two days. Let us know if you have anyone else you would like to see.

Michael Laboon, Anacortes, a ceramic tile artist, has been contacted about doing a talk/demo at a future meeting or workshop at SVC or his home.  He does beautiful architectural decorative work.  Check him out at pacificarttile@webs.com. Or google Michael Laboon.

Brian O'Neill, Bellingham, does ceramic vessels with a strong earthy look . brianoneillceramics.com   Maria Wickwire will contact him.

Carol Gouthro, Seattle, does handbuilding, mold-making and surface design.  Take a look at her work at  Carolgouthro.com.

Maria Wickwire offerred to do a mini workshop possibly after our studio tour in March.

Possible Studio Tours:  We are thinking of a studio tour in March for artists living in the Mt. Vernon and northern areas. And perhaps an Anacortes tour in July.

November 11th,  Saturday, 2-4 pm at SVC.  We will complete the baskets started tonight.  Jeanne will bring some rafia etc but you can bring what you like to finish your basket.  Jeanne make extras in case you missed the meeting but still want to participate.

December 11, 5-8.  Holiday Pot Luck at Erica Herrmann's home, 405 W. Lake Sammish Dr. B'ham. Finger food requested.  More details to follow.

Presentation:  Jeanne Gardner shared a few tips on doing a time saving glaze recipe chart and a clever way to cut circles using a flexible tape measure.  She showed us several examples of clay bases and rings woven together before she let us loose to make our own.  We will finish them Nov. 11 2-4 pm at  SVC. Thanks to Jeanne for a fun time and for taking the pieces home to fire.
